A Wild Hope

Like Duke blogger, Anne Martin, I too find that the wilder and quieter a place, the more I believe we are able to become who we really are. That is, instead of spending the entire day locked away or plugged in — we risk being overstimulated and underutilized — and as a result, we begin to waste away.

Nature, on the other hand, opens us up — slowly peeling back our layers. By being aware of ourselves, in real time, we have the tremendous opportunity to find hope in the wilderness.

Thus, we should welcome those wild parts of the world to surround every one of our cells.
